This is a beautiful dyed bright deep red sheepskin. This rug in made from one whole New Zealand lambskins.

Red is virtually impossible to photograph, most camera sensors can not cope with bright red. Imagine a deep intense very bright & rich blue based red.

Average sheepskin rug dimensions 60cm x 105cm. Wool pile height is a minimum of 5cm (2”).

Natural Longwool sheepskin rugs are soft and fluffy. This lambskin rug is a single whole New Zealand sheepskin rug.

Protect this bright red dyed sheepskin colour from direct or bright reflected UV sunlight or fading may occur.

They are perfect as a soft throw over a chair or sofa, or at the end of a bed. And you can also display them on an ottoman. And they can also be used in a hallway or in front of a fireplace to great effect.

Although these sheepskin rugs are predominantly used on the floor as floor coverings, they can also be used as a sofa throw, on beds, or draped over any type of seat.

Your carefully selected sheepskin may have been tightly packaged for the journey home and so the wool may appear flattened. Wool fibers are very resilient and will bounce back to their original springy appearance.

A vigorous shake or brush will help restore the soft, fluffy appearance of the wool. Any fold marks from packaging will disappear once the skin has been removed from the package for several days.

We recommend that you dry-clean a dyed sheepskin rug to preserve the dye colour. Colours may run or change if you wash a sheepskin.

For full sheepskin washing instructions with photos please read our article.

Brushing
After washing, the wool may revert back to its natural curly state. You can help restore the fluffy appearance by brushing the wool while it is wet and again when it is dry. A fine wire brush or sheepskin carding brush.
